The Vampire Diaries

First up is my current addiction: THE VAMPIRE DIARIES!

Why this show you ask me? Well I'll have to say I have no idea why this show in particular attracted me. It just has all the elements for a great show. Love, sex, revenge,friendship, supernatural and the biggest one VAMPIRES. What more can a sixteen year old girl ask for?

My biggest attraction is by far the love triangle, although I do wish Stefan would just piss off. Damon and Elena seem to have so much sexual tension that when they finally get it on, it will definitely be something to remember.

It also helps that the cast are beautiful. Both Paul Wesley (Stefan) and Ian Somerhalder (Damon) are smoking hot, I'd say I'm swaying towards Somerhalder though. The lucky Nina Dobrev (Elena) is also quite the hottie. The supporting cast are also quite nice to look at ;)All of which are very good actors. The best definitely being Ian Somerhalder, who surprising plays an evil, maniacal vampire really well, and even makes us like this crazy, over theatrical vampire.

The storylines are also different to other vampire shows/books etc. The producers Julie Plec and Kevin Williamson (Dawson's Creek)are trying their hardest to keep the show young, fresh and more importantly original. It's all good having a new vampire show but it needs to be something you haven't seen before, right?

I'd greatly advise people to give this show a try because on paper it may not seem appealing but my oh my it is. 1X06 I find it the real turning point when this show really takes off. 1x11 Bloodlines is one of my personal favourites however, lots of Delena goodness!

Update No.2

Wowser! Djokovic is out! How is that possible?????? He was my pick to go all the way to the final! Okay well that was a shame and I know Djokovic is probably not happy at all at how this years French Open has played out for him. Kohlschreiber is always one to be wary of especially after the defeat he handed Andy Roddick in the 2008 Australian Open third round. Djokovic bows out to Kohlschreiber who wins 6-4 6-4 6-4.

I guess naturally I'll bump up Federer to once again lose to Nadal in the Roland Garros final. However Federer was tested today by Paul Henri Mathieu from France who stole the first set from him however he was unable to keep the winning streak alive any longer as Federer won 4-6 6-1 6-4 6-4.

Tsonga and Del Potro are scheduled to meet in the 4th round with both moving into it comfortably. Tsonga defeated Rochus 6-2 6-2 6-2 and Del Potro defeated Andreev 6-4 7-5 6-4.

However some one I am throuoghly proud of is Andy Roddick. He has made it in the last 16 for the first time in his career at Roland Garros. He won comfortably with 6-1 6-4 6-4 to Marc Gicquel. Roddick is obviously thrilled to be in the second week but he still has a long way to go. His next match will be against Frenchman Gael Monfils who beat Jurgen Melzer of Austria, 6-4 4-6 6-3 6-1. He is looking on top form despite the knee injury that has left him out of the game for a few weeks.

It's a tough assignment for Roddick but I'm hoping desperately that he wins and maybe,just maybe he can get over his 'oh my gosh it's Federer'fear and beat the Swiss on the clay.

That's it today for the men's tennis but I'm looking forward to the Murray vs Cilic match. It looks like it will be tough but as a Brit myself I and rooting for Murray!

Update No1

Well I gues I was wrong about Tsonga. He has moved into the third round and will now face Christophe Rochus. He could possibly beat him but I really do not see him going beyond there as he will most likely face Del Potro in the fourth round.

It was a shame that Acasuso was unable to oust Federer but then again I am not a Federer fan and I am hoping Murray can overtake Federer as World No. 2

Roddick has made it to the third round quite comfortably, 6-2 6-2 7-6(2). I'm really glad since he has only reached the third round one other time eight years ago in 2001. I predicted he'd get to the third roud but I do hope that he does better that what I guessed. Maybe even the second week...

Monfils has just gotten to the third round quite comfortably. Davydenko also through.

My Roland Garros/ French Open 2009 Predictions

Okay so this is my first blog. I hope you all enjoy it and please leave a comment expressing your opinions as I would love to see how they differ from mine!

My Predictions

3. Andy Murray – Semi-finals

4. Novak Djokovic - Finalist WRONG! This is the biggest shocker so far and it's deeply upsetting, plus it ruins a lot of my other predictions as I thought Djokovic would be the one to defeat Del Potro and Federer!

5. Del Potro – Quarter-finals

6. Andy Roddick – Third round WRONG! Okay well personally I'm over the moon that Roddick reached further than my expectations let's hope he can get as far as possible.

7. Gilles Simon – Fourth Round WRONG! I thought he'd lose in the third round but changed my mind :(

8. Fernando Verdasco – Quarter-finals

9. Jo Wilfred Tsonga – Second Round WRONG!

10. Gael Monfils – Quarter-finals

11. Nikolay Davydenko – Fourth Round
